If you’re coming to the 25th Anniversary show in NYC on Friday, be sure to visit the lobby where we’ve put together a “museum” of Guster memorabilia for you to peruse. We’ve dug up some humdingers, and we were close to convincing Scooter, our old drum tech, to show up and wave at people from behind a glass display case — but he had a gig in Japan that night with his new band.

ANYWAY, there is also exciting new merchandise in time for the holidays. Pick up the new Big Friend plush toy, hummingbird hat, 02 Points for Honesty tee shirt, and more from our web store. We’ll send it to you in time for you to stuff your stocking with it, or light it with a menorah. er.

The Boston weekend at the Paradise Rock Club is sold out so we've launched a scalper-free ticket exchange. If you're looking for a ticket, leave your info on the site and we'll get in touch when one becomes available. If you have an extra ticket, the exchange will purchase your ticket immediately and another fan will get to attend without having to overpay on a scalping site.

Oh mama. We’re announcing a 4 night stand at The Paradise in Boston today. The shows will be January 12, 13, 14, and 15 (happy Guster day!). Let us explain.

It’s the Paradise’s 40th anniversary as a club next year.
It’s Guster’s 25th anniversary as a band.

Back when we were students at Tufts, playing our instruments in Harvard Square on weekends and praying for “off campus gigs” — The Paradise stepped up, took us under their wing, and invited us to open for national acts that came through. In 1994 and 1995 we got to open for Rusted Root, Jackopierce, The Bogmen, John Wesley Harding, and Acoustic Junction at our favorite local club, and by the time we graduated (and changed our name from GUS to GUSTER) we were headlining the Paradise ourselves. It is a venue that we feel an umbilical attachment to. Umbilical. Dalton are you guys gonna make me edit that out? I think it has a nice ring.

We are ecstatic to be playing that room again, and we've created four distinct shows that survey our musical evolution from then til now. The openers include two of our previous Paradise companions (The Bogmen, John Wesley Harding aka Wesley Stace), one young trio (And The Kids) who remind us of Gus back in the day, if we were female and much much better at songwriting. And we will kick it off with Steven Page, who we toured alongside for so many years when he was a barenaked lady.

All tickets are now SOLD OUT. However if you have an extra, we've launched a regulated, scalper-free ticket exchange for sold out Guster shows here. If you're looking for a ticket, leave your info on the site and we'll get in touch when one becomes available. If you have an extra ticket, the exchange will purchase your ticket immediately and another fan will get to attend without having to overpay on a scalping site.

WE HAVE BEEN A BAND FOR TWENTY FIVE YEARS, GUSTERRHOIDS. We vaguely remember that our first time on stage together was at Lewis Hall, Tufts University, in December 1991. We were a trio named “Ryan, Adam, and Brian” and we played six cover songs at double speed.

Today we are announcing a special 25th Anniversary Show at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. It will be Friday, November 25th 2016. We are planning to put up a small museum of Guster memorabilia at the show. The Old 97’s are opening. We might even play a new song or two. This will be an awesome celebration of our shocking tenure as a band, so if you’ll be near New York for Thanksgiving, please join us. Tickets go on sale Friday September 16th at 12PM EST, but you can use the presale code BIGFRIEND to save $5 on your ticket beginning Wednesday at 12PM EST.
